These are some childhood memories that I never had and they make my heart happy. Cali and Rose in their tshirts trying to eat the snow :). Millie and Tiago are the cutest little Anna and Olaf! The kids can play for hours out back and there’s always some attempt at a snowman 🙂
Joel and Megan always throw a great party! We had dinner and fun at their house to celebrate GUS. Mom and Dad got in to town that afternoon so we got to see them. It was a Pokemon Success!
February 3rd was a snow day! We barely had any snow but other parts of the school district did so we stayed home and chilled and played with Cove! Now we’ll have a makeup day during spring break.
That night Ben and I went out to dinner with all of the Netty Crew to celebrate mom and dad Netty’s 50th wedding anniversary! We went to Tucanos and had a great time with our people.
On Monday Feb 3. I got an early text from Sean to see if we could help with Cove while they were at the hospital! Jana’s water broke but the baby was only 33-34 weeks – – so we watched Cove Monday and Tuesday while they did steroid shots and tried to get the babies lungs stronger and ready to be born. We watched him again wednesday while baby Perry was born! We let Grandma take over for a few days but still helped a little during those days. Then we did a few more days from 3:30 to 6:30 while they’d go be with Perry. IT WAS SO FUN TO GET COVE USED TO US AND HAVE HIM BE HAPPY PLAYING WITH US. WE HAD LOTS OF FUN SMOTHERING HIM!

Wednesday morning January 22 was a scary morning in Mukwonago WI. When Jen tried to wake Rick up he wouldn’t wake up and then he was acting a weird and unsure on his feet and really not acting himself. The ambulance came and took him to the hospital. After a long day of him being unconscious, inserting a breathing tube, and not knowing what was going on the Dr.s determined that he had a massive brain stem stroke!
Its been almost a month and Rick is hanging in there. We have seen lots of miracles in his recovery! He has been staying in a Rehab hospital with lots of therapy to help him relearn how to think and eat and walk and do! So crazy. He can’t walk on his own. He can’t see well enough to read. He is super tired all of the time. But he does have a lot of his long term and short term memories. He can move all of his body parts and he can think and process. Now it’s just day to day and trying to do as much therapy as he can and praying that his body will continue to recover!
Jen and the kids have been amazing through this looong month. She gives us daily updates and is always there with Rick and is still balancing being mom. Such a trial and she is being so strong. We’ve all had a hard time with this, wishing we could be there to help!
We had lots of Nettys over to watch the Super Bowl and eat some burritos. The commercials were great and somehow the Chiefs beat the 49ers.
My friend Kristin invited me over for lunch! Beef Stew and Delicious dessert and some of my best friends!
Millie is still a fireball around here. She is growing up so much and we just love her.
Tiago is getting so big. He has been playing with Emily almost every day. They love to play games.
