    HAPPY BIRTHDAY CALI

CALI HAD A GREAT BIRTHDAY! It was her Golden birthday! We played hard all day. We opened presents and drank chocolate milk. We spent most of the day at Micah’s baptism and the luncheon afterwards. Then Grandma and Grandpa came to give Cali a present. At 6:00 all of the Netty cousins came over for a PARTY. Doggie Doggie, Cheep Cheep, and the Princess Guess Who were the main games. Cake and presents and a movie… It was fun.

She’s 6 years old.  She loves school and reading and writing.  She’s usually a social butterfly.  She’s independent and pushes herself to keep up with her big brothers.  She’s my best helper with the younger kids. She hasn’t thrown a BIG fit since we started the marble jar last month. She still loves Mommy time!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

The day after Thanksgiving has become our day to get our Christmas tree… and if all goes well we get it set up… and decorated… and decorate the house… and stay up watching Christmas Movies… and Fall Asleep out by the tree!

That’s exactly what happened this year with a little cousin birthday and games with my family all mixed in.

We went to the Alpine tree farm again this year and picked and cut our tree. Grandma and Grandpa Nettesheim helped us and Pete’s family came too. I had my eyes on a certain tree but the kids all agreed on a different one so … the kids won… and I love our tree this year 🙂

    THANKSGIVING

    THANKSGIVING was awesome!

Ryan and Shannon came to spend the night with us on Wednesday evening, Thanksgiving Eve. We played with them and then the next morning Ben finished making some pies and our green bean specialty 🙂 Ben was able to stay home Tuesday and Wednesday this year so he made pies on Wednesday and he helped a lot with the kids because I ended up being sick all week. So Thursday morning we chilled and then went to Ben’s parents house around 12:30. We spent the day in Alpine with Rick and Kris and Grandma and Grandpa Becker and Uncle Bill. Matt and Jamie’s family and Michelle and Udine’s family and Emily and her kids and then Pete and Amanda came for pie fest in the late afternoon. It was a fun relaxing day with lots of good food. We came home and put the kids to bed and hung out with Ryan and Shannon. I think we all had Thanksgiving Coma because not a game was played and no one left to black friday shop. I still had a pretty bad cold so that’s my excuse.

The rest of the weekend was packed with Christmas tree hunting and decorating. Late night games with my siblings and a little soccer. Ryan brought his dog so we played with Rusty and Brewer and just had a lot of fun and laughs. I really enjoy family time. It has been a lot of fun adding Shannon to the “Utah Family” the last 3 months. She just finished her student teaching in Ogden but we are hoping she makes it a more permanent move. Shan and I played on my womens soccer team this season and had tons of fun. I think she is the one that gave me the week lomg cold but I guess I forgive her.

The weekend before Thanksgiving was memorable because Shan and I played a soccer game and then we met up with Sean, Brady and Ryan and went to a late showing of Mocking Jay. We stayed out late and had a fun time as siblings. Ben took one for the J&B team and stayed home with the kids. I had so much Fun and felt slightly justified because I had accomplished my 3 worst chores that day: cleaned all 3 bathrooms, did my biannual ironing, and scheduled dentist appointments for the whole family. Those are hands down the worst chores on my list and I did them all in 1 day. So I partied with my siblings and stayed out late and ordered the large popcorn and got a stomach ache and it was definitely a night to remember.

    Happy Thanksgiving!
