Life with Millie – FIRST BATH

We had done a few sponge baths but the cord finally fell off (15 days) and we were able to do a real bath!! Lots of times my mom is here to do the bath and I get cute pictures but this time it was just me. Sorry Millie – no cute bath pictures… but I tried…

And we have had lots of work going on in the yard. Sprinklers are about ready and they should be laying sod in a few days!

On MONDAY night we had some of my family over. Joel and Megan made us dinner! She is a great cook and the wheat bread was delicious. Sean and Casey came and Brady showed up later on. We FINALLY got to play “7 Wonders”. That was my birthday request and my brothers came through for me πŸ™‚

    My Birthday!

    9.29

I had a wonderful birthday. It was relaxing. It was Sunday. Ben was home to do breakfast, lunch and dinner!!! I got spoiled as always. The kids made me cards. I got a new puzzle and worked on it all day πŸ™‚ yes, that is a tradition and yes, I choose to spend my special day doing that πŸ™‚ I requested pumpkin pie instead of cake – not the usual but it was yummy. And THESE kids make sure that the birthdayer talks while eating their Pie Cake – then we all eat UNDER the table – so fun!

Saturday we had soccer games at 11. Packer and Cali were at the same time again. Then we went to Benji’s game at 3:00 – actually I didn’t want to wrestle the kids during nap time so I stayed home. We are SLOWLY decorating the new house BUT really we lived in the last house for 10 years and NEVER really decorated. With that in mind, Ben has taken it upon himself to be the decorator of the house. I like that. I just could never make it a priority. I will still give input but I’m glad that he is getting it done. And that night we had Pete and his kids over. We ate pizza and watched Wisconsin football.

It was my mother in laws birthday. They got to spend it in Wisconsin so we didn’t get to see her. She IS an AMAZING Mother in Law. I am very blessed to have her in my life. She is the perfect balance. She is always willing to help. She loves her kids, and me and my kids. Β She loves God. We love her and are happy that she got to spend her birthday in one of her favorite places! The 28th is Grandma’s birthday. 29th is mine, 30th is my Sister-in-law Liz. Oct. 1 is Rose and my nephew Braden. Oct. 2 is Gentry. It is BIRTHDAY TIME.

Friday Friday!! Ben stayed home in the afternoon and helped me with the kids. I sent him out shopping and had him look for the Wonder Mold cake pan for Rosie’s birthday cake. I had seen it at Walmart.com for 12.99 but it was sold out. He called me from Hobby Lobby to let me know that they had it but the price was $47.99 – – !!!! We had the 40% off coupon but really – a 50$ cake pan!? Ben was smart enough to question the price at checkout and it was only 12$. I just thought that was some crazy pricing and curious if some desperate mom trying to make a 3 year olds bday cake wishes come true would have just paid that crazy price. I am now the proud owner of this pan and any of you are welcome to borrow it.

Ben and Millie and I were able to go on our first date night that evening. We had mexican food and shopped and hurried home to watch the BYU football game.

Thursday was pretty low key. I’m sure we played a few rounds of “war” with cards and maybe got the kids bathed. I tried to get my kitchen under control and I remember Benji SANG his homework for us πŸ™‚ It was actually really funny. He has reading comprehension so he was at the table singing the paragraphs and then answering the questions. Benji had soccer practice. Jamie brought us dinner πŸ™‚ and then I really don’t mind being home bound but I did take off for a couple of hours that evening. It was nice to get out of the house and do a little shopping. I found these crazy sweatshirts that the boys have been obsessed with having ever since their cousins got them. I found them for a good deal and then they had to earn them. Benji had to learn how to tie shoes – he had just never had the motivation – he learned in 1 day once the sweatshirt was there waiting. Packer had to practice his ABC’s and numbers – there are a few letters and numbers that he does backwards so I made him write them a bunch of times to figure it out. I don’t think we are 100% yet but he is getting much better.

    Millie is 2 Weeks * 9.25

2 WEEKS OLD!! We went to the DR on Wednesday morning – Millie weighed 7.12 – so gained an ounce and she was 20 inches = gained an inch. The Dr said she looked good. She has a red line around her pupil but the Dr thought it should go away on it’s own. She also had a clogged tear duct which I was glad to hear because Β I was thinking that she was getting a cold. They took a bunch of blood from her foot and Millie cried the whole time. Then she came home and slept the rest of the day. That night Ben had a family work party at the REAL Soccer Stadium! I stayed home with the two littles and he took the other four to eat dinner and play and watch a movie outside. It happened to be a really cold evening BUT the kids loved going!

I love this picture of all 3 of the girls!

(MIGHT AS WELL FINISH OFF BLOGGING THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER…)

On Tuesdays Rose had been going to story time at the library with Jamie and Ellie. She loves being big and going to ‘school’ and being with her cousin. She is so excited to show me the projects that she makes. Jamie often takes her on Thursdays as well and we try to have nap time while all of the BIG kids are gone.
