I’m your Buckaroo, I want to be like You!

He closed his little eyes, folded his little hands
And spoke to God like he was talking to a friend
And I said, “Son, now where’d you learn to pray like that?”

    [Chorus:]
He said, “I’ve been watching you, dad. Ain’t that cool?
I’m your buckaroo, I wanna be like you.
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are.
We like fixing things and holding mama’s hand.
Yeah we’re just alike. Hey, ain’t we, dad?
I wanna do everything you do.
    So I’ve been watching you.”

    [Bridge:]
With tears in my eyes I wrapped him in a hug
Said, “My little bear is growing up.”
He said, “But when I’m big I’ll still know what to do.”

    [Chorus:]
‘Cause I’ve been watching you, dad. Ain’t that cool?
I’m your buckaroo, I wanna be like you.
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are.
By then I’ll be strong as Superman.
We’ll be just alike. Hey, won’t we, dad?
When I can do everything you do,
    ‘Cause I’ve been watching you.”

CLEAN UP 🙁 and CRICKET eating with Grandpa!!!

Ben and I made it out of there by 11am. Home and unpacked and at the Temple for Diego for the 1:30pm session.

Everyone else unpacked and showered and cleaned up while we were gone. We got home from the temple right in time to leave for Joel’s Birthday dinner!

After the birthday dinner: a bunch of the adults went to COUNTRY FAN FEST! We said hi to Aunts and Uncles and Cousins and bought Cowboy hats and listened to Luke Combs! We got tickets and food vouchers from the family and had a blast!!

The kids did so good at babysitting and helping each other. Tay and Ky are amazing! I wasn’t there but the kids said it went well and they had a good time. My toy room was destroyed but the dishes were done!

17 cousins asleep in one room! AND THAT IS A WRAP!!

Pool Day! We were all filthy so we headed down to Provo rec center and showered and swam for a few hours. The kids just disappeared with cousins and had a BLAST. We swam with little kids in the lazy river. Millie did all of the jumps and slides. Tiago even did the slides. Everything was so fun cause there were so many cousins to be with. We ate in the parking lot and Aunt Susan and Aunt Diane and Jenny and Gerald came and swam with us!

We grabbed Kong Kones on the way home and then came back to camp for Mexican Explosion. That night we had a talent show. It was cute and hilarious. The teenage boys did a “who has the best pick up line” and the girls did impersonations of all of the adults! We ended it with Ben’s poem, Grandpa’s testimony and Ella’s recording of Peace in Christ. I love this family.

We spent the day in camp. We played volleyball, Spyder Pong, Spike, and board games. Brady and Braden got there in the morning and then Sean and Jana and then Kevin and Liz. So by Wednesday evening we had EVERYONE that was able to come! Bryce is in the MTC, Shae and Tyler are in Minnesota and Mary stayed at her moms.

Brady taught the kids how to trap the Pot Guts under a bin! We picked lots of pretty wild flowers. The kids played lots of pranks on each other! And we did lots of exploring.

We had a busy day getting ready for the Big Camping Trip.

That morning I let Millie and Tiago go to Lucas’s Birthday party. I borrowed camping gear from Erica and Ben was shopping for more ice chests.

At noon Josh and Mal came and then Mal and I picked up Mom and we spent a $1000 at Costco and Winco.

Ryan built a Rope Swing from a scrap of wood!!

And then we all ended up back at Joel’s house for dinner and games!

And the Eggers got there. And Christy’s nose got greased for her bday!

The neighbors let off fireworks and we all sang and had cake and ice cream before calling it a night!
