    Cleaning Day

Today was a cleaning Day – Inspired by this very powerful but very ginormous microwave…

having nevr owned a microwave we bought the biggest and most powerful thing we could find... no one told us that we'd rather have counter space than this beast.

After lunch I ended up putting Cali in the sink to play so that I could get more cleaning done. She loves the water. Pretty soon Packer figured out where Cali was and he had to get in too. They were super Cute Playing in there.

I got a lot of cleaning done and am loving the new microwave and my new counter space. After most projects around here we always ask the same question… Why didn’t we do this sooner?

And I even had time to make Cookies!

    HydraWalrus

Benji spent some time on the computer today. After a while he called me to come look at the drawings that he had made for me. The first was a coloring of a flower and then he started drawing something – I asked if it was a Dinosaur, he said that it was a HydraWalrus and that it was stronger than anything even bigger than dinosaurs and stronger than any of us even!!

    MLS ALLSTAR GAME

Last Night we got to go to watch my boy Landon at the new Rio Tinto Stadium. Soccer is pretty fun to watch and now that I’m getting to know a few of the players it’s even more fun. Both of the US Team goalies were playing – Keller played for MLS Allstars team and Howard played for his team – Everton FC -(I guess that’s an English League?) I had fun. It was a sold out game. Bens siblings and spouces all came and a few rowdy friends. And I tried Five Guys and Fries before the game and I really liked the Burger – very tastey.

    Monday Night

On Monday Night we actually had some time and energy so we had family home evening and then Dad set up his tent to make sure that it was good to go for Scout Camp next week and they got to sleep in it!! Cali did not want to miss out on the fun – she screamed more than usual in her bed not wanting to be up in her room. I ended up falling asleep in there too to help the boys fall asleep. They made it through the night though and it brought hours more entertainment the next morning.

    Sundays are the Best Days

I love Sundays. Today has been so nice and relaxing. We had a good day at church and now we’ve just been enjoying being at home with nowhere to go. Here are the 3 kiddos – Why can’t they smile like this when their hair is combed and their clothes are clean??

    IMGP4393IMGP4386IMGP4368

We had pancakes and then naps. Now we’ve played CandyLand, Memory and Disney Sorry. And the current entertainment is home videos – the kids really get into them. I also snuck in a fast photoshoot of Cali because I feel like she is getting too big too fast. She is sitting up without even trying. She can roll, and army crawl. Now she has started the rock and lunge, totally on her knees and thinking about going.

    IMGP4365IMGP4378IMGP4408

She has learned how to call for my attention. She loves to play with real toys and be entertained. My little baby is not so little anymore. She eats anything we’ll give her. She sleeps from 9pm to 7:30am. I am still working on getting through more than the first 10 minutes of church with her and she definitely has a stubborn streak but I would almost call her a happy baby these days.

A few more pictures – she’s just too cute.

    For Our Anniversary this Year…

The Tuacahn theater was pretty cool. I loved being out in the night sky with an amazing natural backdrop. We had excellent seats for a good price, 4th row on the left side by the orchestra. The singing was really good. Now if I could only get “Tomorrow” and “Easy Street” out of my brain!

the stage - no cameras allowed so I grabbed this picture from someone else

The show went until 11pm and then they did some fireworks for the 24th of July celebration so it was a late night and we were more than happy not to have our kids with us. Tracie and John were awesome enough to take all 3 of our kids for the night! And report is that they were really good – they were excited to go to Chicken Wings House and not any signs of the normal Mamas Boys! Thanks again Lewis’s. Cali even did well. We probably missed them more than they missed us, especially when I couldn’t sleep in cause I needed to pump. Too much info? I’ll stop there.

    Me with The Hannigans!

    Me with The Hannigans!

This morning we hiked Kanarraville Falls! WOW! That was a fun hike. I enjoy hiking but I LOVED Hiking in water! In the river and zig zagging from one side to the other.

    IMG_0149IMG_0153

It’s a pretty small and very shallow river so it wasn’t dangerous – just fun! Another one that I’m glad the kids weren’t there needing to be held and carried over the stream. Why haven’t I done that hike before?

    My Kind of Toy

Benji got this marble game for his birthday from Grandma and Grandpa Nettesheim. We have had some fun times making different ‘water slides’ and stuff. I really enjoy playing this with them. Their Dad taught them how to do one down the stairs so that is the latest and greatest.

Today my youngest brother, Sean, went into the MTC! He’ll be there for 2 months learning Spanish (and a lot of other stuff). And then he heads to the Houston Texas South Mission!!
He was ready to go. We gave him lots of advice last night. Ate a good batch of homemade ice cream – chocolate with Reeces and cookie dough. Today we had a little lunch at Tucanos, took some pictures and then he got dropped off at the curb (that’s the new MTC policy).

    I USE MOZY

As most of you know Ben works for Mozy so you might think I’m bias, but it really is cool!

I sleep well at night because MOZY backs up all of my pictures and documents. I love knowing that my pictures are safe. Really, not trying to be cheesy – We took 500 pictures just on our last vacation – if I lost them I would be so sad. Not to mention the fact that I never get any of my pictures printed so our photo selection would be very slim and all of my pictures of my cute kids would be lost. Mozy is really cheap and it really does let me rest peacefully not ever worrying about the untimely crashing of any of our 3 computers.

I’m getting a free T-shirt for using MOZY and Blogging about it!

    If you’re interested : http://mozy.com/moms

All you have to do is sign up and you get a free shirt or if you already use Mozy then you can blog about it and get the shirt!

    Our Vacation: The Rushes

Well – we had another successful trip to Wisconsin and back! I am tempted to send you to last years post because we did many of the same traditions BUT… that would never suffice. We have over 500 pictures from the trip, I just went through to pick out my favorites and that was still 100 of them! So now we will see how many of them actually make it on the blog…

Every Year we go and eat at Al Johnsons for breakfast. They have swedish pancakes and they are yummy – they are very thin and seems like it might not fill you up but… it does. I couldn’t finish mine this year. Their sausage is also a winner and I love the hot chocolate!

    THE FARM

The best thing about the farm is the hungry little goats that attack you as soon as you walk in the door. They give you a bottle to feed them and its a little scary but LOTS of fun.

    THE YUM YUM TREE

This is a local icecream shop that we invade – or rather take over for the night when we go. Extended family and all went on Tuesday Night so around 70 people! The big talk is the “Blue Moon” flavor… I personally think it is kind of gross – which it is hard to have gross icecream BUT the kids all getthe yummy blue stuff and seem to like it so…

We finally got Bens kite up in the air. It ended up being a lot of fun. Everyone took a turn and some were even good at it after a few attempts.

     THE FAST BOAT

Uncle Norb brought his speed boat again! Our boys actually wanted to go for a ride and then Packer even went on the tube with Ben and I! After that I got to ski which was tons of fun even though my muscles were sore the rest of the week. Later in the week we went out again and did some knee boarding – Good Times!

Our boaters! Cali slept most of the ride.

That’s about it. We did tons more – the whole trip was just go go go and then there were 4-6 days of driving and hotels. We’ll definitely go back next chance we get – the next big reunion is in 2012 – seems far away but the way time flies these last few years I’m sure it will be here before we know it.
