    Cali’s First Soccer Tournament

Soccer time for Cali. One game Wednesday, 2 games Thursday, 1 game Friday:

    First time playing against Mia!

These 2 munchkins always want to come with me 🙂

Hanging with the Matt and Jamie family at the games:

Cali played lots of Defense! She played almost all of every game. She gave it 100% and was really strong at her position! They didn’t win any of their games but there was lots of improvement.

Friday nights game got over at dinner time so we decided we NEEDED to eat at Golden Corral! The kids loved the variety and mostly the dessert bar.

    Nettesheim “Campout”

Netty Campout in Our backyard during the last week of summer!! We had everyone over and watched Jumanji  and Jumanji 2. We made smores and sat around the gas fire. We shut things down around 11:30 and the kids and Matt slept over.

We had waffles the next morning and hung out most of the day. Emily actually had a seizure that morning and had to go to the hospital. We had their kids here and Michelle had them drop Becker off to. It was a crazy day worrying about Emily and finding out that she has a brain tumor and still has a bad heart :(. Life is so short and you never know what tomorrow is going to bring.

    Drive In Movie

If the kids work hard all summer and earn “signatures” then we go to the Drive-In Movie!

They worked hard and the chart was very motivating. It was almost too motivating for our eldest child who made it a First priority, always, to the point of annoying ALL of us.

We went and watched Incredibles 2 and then Chrostopher Robbin. Most of us fell asleep during the 2nd movie. Still always a great time. Even when your van battery dies sometime during teh first movie and you have to get it jumped.

Grandpa passed away around 11:30pm on Monday August 13th.

We got word a little earlier that day that the hospice nurse didn’t think he would live much longer. Ben and I went over around 4pm and visited. He was awake but uncomfortable and coudn’t talk. We talked to him and shared some memories and love and said our goodbyes. We got word late that night that he had passed. We will miss Fun and Silly Grandpa Becker. Grateful for our knowledge that families can be together forever!

We still managed lots of fun in that time:

Millie and Tiago have become the neighborhood wanderers. They are always outside looking for friends.

    I read a few books!

This guy learned how to take selfies:

Cali got her braces touched up:

The Hancocks came and they all put on a circus show:

Packer still wakes up before everyone – usually he makes a lego creation while he waits for everyone to wake up. And his creations inspire the rest of us to give it a try:

A few movie night sleepovers in the basement:

I got my bike out for the Relief Society bike ride. Then i rode 3 mornings on my own before we left on vacation.

We went to the pond with the Hancocks and we brought Bennett and Ellie and Julia:

Tiago is learning to ride the hoverboard – look at that face of pure joy!!

The Friday before our California trip I left in the morning to get the oil changed and car cleaned and errands done… and then I ended up spending the entire day dealing with a broken van :(. I did the oil change at Walmart and when I left the shop the van died on the side of the road… I spent over an hour trying to get help from Walmart or JIffyLube or Larkin Tire… and then I finally had it towed .2 miles to a hidden car shop. The guys there were great and fixed the Mass Air Flow Filter Sensor. So I took my van and my bill back to Walmart and spent the afternoon getting them to pay for the damages that they made while checking my air filter. FUN FUN FUN. I did see Aunt Carol while I was there… and a few others I know. In the end I am grateful that I got my money back and grateful that the shop was able to get the van fixed before the weekend so we could go on our trip.

The kids survived at home without me:

I took a few of the kids to Kelsey Avila’s wedding reception!!

And BRADEN EGGERS came home from his mission in Sao Paulo Brasil. We couldn’t be there but looking forward to a week at the cabin with him:

And we had balloon fights the next day with Noah:

And Kelsey came and we went to see all of our peops: We stopped to see Jana and Sean and Cove, We brought Aunt Di a birthday cupcake while she recouped from knee surgery, and we stopped in to see how aunt Carol and the puppies were doing!

That night Ben and I went out to the RSL game. Delayed for lightning. We got home super late and finished packing for the Cali trip!

After the family vacations we had a much needed Sunday. Rose practiced braiding hair and Everyone took naps on my new blanket.

On Monday we watched Gus and Dagny so that Joel could take Megan out for her Birthday!

And on the last Day of July we had Rob and Raeanne’s Family over in the morning with the Hancocks!

And in the afternoon we had 4 of Ryan and Mary’s kids and Hancocks and Neighbors:

And we ended the night singing Karaoke on dads new microphones:

    THAT’S HOW WE DO SUMMER!!!

On Wednesday Morning we all went down to the Temple with the older kids adn did baptisms!!

Then Sean and Jana and Cove came so we had to go back to the Rockslide and rope swing. We had a blast until Taylee fell off the rope swing and injured herself pretty badly:

On Thursday we went back to Silver Lake. This time we took everyone and everything over to the sandy beach on the other side. It was a little work getting there and back but the sand was WAY better! And Brady brought the HUGE UNICORN!! It was perfect for carrying everyone across and so much fun to hang out in and jump off of.

The lake was beautiful and the water was surprisingly warm.

Kayaks for everyone! and SpyderBall was SOO FUN.

We found a rock to jump from and another little rapid rock slide adn played in the waterfall and … the kids loved it. Millie couldn’t get enough. Packer got stung so he was not as into it.

And then we floated downriver back toward the cars!

Teaching Everyone CAMEL UP. Dinner and Games.

we might have stayed up LATE friday night cause we didn;t want the fun to end.
