    School is Over

Benji passed kindergarten! Really we are not surprised but I am happy with how much he learned and how much he enjoyed the school year. He really liked school. He went every day and never asked to stay home or not go. A few times I even gave him the option to stay home or leave early because it would have been more convenient for me but he never went for it. He would never admit to being sick, if it was a school day then he was fine. Benji learned to read and write throughout the year! He was not able to do either of those when he went the first day. He knew how to write his name and nothing else. I loved the baggy book system – he struggled that first week and then he just took off and would read his 2 books without needing help. We have a few things I want to work on this summer, like not writing letters backwards, keep reading, learn to right his full name – Nettesheim is a hard one, tie his shoes, phone numbers… but we also have a lot of playing to do so hopefully we can find a nice balance.
