Happy Happy Birthday Millie Girl! We sang to Millie lots of different times during the day and every time she would get a big smile on her face and bounce up and down. It was so fun to see her be excited and enjoy everyone’s attention!

Millie learned how to turn around and go backwards! This is a life changing skill for a 1 year old and her mother! I am so excited. No more getting stuck on the stairs or the fire place or kitchen chairs or the front porch. She is still hesitant but has learned to turn herself around and go back on her tummy. I love it. I love her. And I love that she can do stairs all by herself now!

She has 6 teeth now! She is still a great sleeper. We will take her for her well check and weigh in on Monday.

Whenever she hears music she bounces and dances. This week she had the best little upper body wiggle and she would kick in the moves with the beat of the music – Adorable!

I took her to get her 1 year pictures and she was a little stinker. I say stinker instead of beast because she wasn’t in beast mode- she wasn’t crying or whining. She just wouldn’t cooperate and wouldn’t sit for more than 1 second and she was just crawling all over the studio exploring and having fun. I bought a few pics and I’m sure they’ll be cute enough.

This little baby has also learned the fake cry. She throws little tantrums and can turn the tears off and on. We love our Millie Marie. I can’t believe she’s already been a part of our family for a year!

Millie is 11 months old!! AHHHHHH!!
She just got her top 2 teeth.
She is learning to stand on her own.
She can climb up the kids slide.

She still loves to eat and she’s not spitting it up like she used to. Seems that her stomach has adapted to most foods.

Millie is always on the go. She doesn’t like to sit and be held – she gets very antsy.

She is standing up all of the time now. She’s taken 1 step. She’s stood up without holding on. She does it all without knowing and its fun to just watch her learn and GO.

Her sisters can be very TOUCHY and hands on. Millie usually cries and screams and wants them to put her down so that she can go explore on her own or be held by mom.

Millie loves to climb up the stairs. She will rarely stay down. If she see’s them, she will climb them.

That’s my short update. Millie is a pretty easy 11 month old. LOVE HER.

Millie is 10 months old today!

She learned how to pull herself up to standing this week!

She is almost done nursing.

She is getting fast and she gives CUTE smiles and cute “Da Da Da’s”.

Millie is on the move! The girl has just started crawling EVERYWHERE. Nothing is safe, she has no boundaries and I am a little nervous about these long stairs – she has taken a half fall already 🙁 I love how she will just show up in the kitchen now – it catches me off guard how she can get where ever she wants. This is our first baby in this house so everything is new and different.
She loves to stand up and hold on to things. She loves chewing on everything. She still has 2 teeth. She loves food – really loves bread and crackers and cooked carrots. She still nurses but loves to eat solids. I don’t have any height or weight stats. She has been waking up two times a night lately which I do not appreciate. I love when she gets excited and wiggles her whole body and I love when she rocks back and forth to music. Millie is a such a cutie.

  

Here’s a little bit I wrote about her on her 9 month day:

Millie Marie

9 months old

She spits. She spits cute little bubbles at you (raspberry style) and it just makes you want to spit them back. She also does big spit ups a lot. Not as cute. She still nurses most of the time but she LOVES a bottle – 4 ounces isn’t enough anymore. She also loves food. Some of her staples are baby puffs, crackers, rice cereal with bananas and this week she is loving the leftover french bread. She is a good sleeper right now. She is tired around 8pm and sleeps until 4 or 5am and then back down until 8ish. Millie likes to chew – she always has something in her mouth. She can stand up if she holds on to something and just this week she is learning to crawl and to pull herself up on things!! She is on the move now – not a good crawler but she’ll squirm around until she gets where she wants to. When she nurses she doesn’t let me use my phone anymore – if I have my phone in my hand she waves her hand around until she finds it and grabs and pushes buttons until I get frustrated and put the phone away. If I wear a necklace or earings she grabs like crazy and eats the necklace.

Today I nursed her in bed at 4:30am and put her back in bed at 5:00. I peeked on her at 8:30 when I took Packer to school and she was awake but just chillin. I left her in there until 9:00 when I had gotten the other kids their breakfast. She is usually sitting up in her bed these days and squawks to get out. I got her out and she wanted to nurse right away. Then she played happily on the family room floor until 9:45. I then put her in the bumbo with a piece of bread while I got the dishes done. At 10 we went up and got a quick bath and then I laid her in bed and she went right to sleep. If you time it right she doesn’t even cry when you put her down. I woke her up at 11:30 and put her  right in the car. We picked Packer up from school and then drove to JCPenny portrait studio to get her Bath tub picture to match the rest of the kids. She was a little mad until I gave her a graham Cracker with the rest of the kids. They were running behind at the studio so I nursed her a little while we waited and she stole one of Ray’s goldfish crackers. She was smiley and happy for her pictures and then I let her have the 4 ounce bottle while we walked around the mall. We played on everything kid friendly, explored the new toy store and let the kids ride the escalator a hundred times. oh yeah, this is about Millie. She started getting whiny and wanting to be held so we left around 2:30 and she fell asleep in the car. She woke up when we got home so I played with her for a few minutes and nursed her a little and she was acting tired so I put her in bed and she went right to sleep.  I will wake her up at 5:00 for my soccer game and she will nurse and then eat some puffs while I play. We will hang out and play until 8:00, nurse one more time and put her down for the night. Sounds like a good life – right?

She is a good baby if we are on the go. She likes being outside. She did really good at Trafalga last week and she did really good at the splash pad yesterday. She gets antsy when I leave her sitting on the floor at home. And when she’s tired she just wants her bed. Last week Grandma Nettesheim baby sat her and she cried for the whole 3 hours!! I think it was just the perfect storm of tired, falling asleep on the way over for a short 10 minute nap and then not having any of her siblings around in a foreign location… As soon as I came back she was all smiles.

The Rolling Machine: Millie Marie.

This baby is a mover. She is all over the room all of a sudden. She used to just stay put but now she see’s stuff and she goes for it. No more sitting on the bed or couch. She was playing on the bed today and fell off. She got a little bloody nose 🙁 I also lowered her bed so she can’t think about climbing out.

 

She also loves to explore the basket of toys. She is so fun and smiley. I wish I could just sit and play with her for hours. I never regret the times that I do stop and play on the floor with her. I love babies and I love being a mom.

Look at this Beautiful 8 month old!

She decided to cut 2 teeth to celebrate the 8 month mark!

Millie has also started scooting backwards and rolling and leaning to get where she wants and what she wants. And she likes to play with Raymond – sometimes 🙂

She is loving FOOD and her little body is finally adjusting to cereal and bananas and crackers. If you are eating she wants to eat.

I love snuggling with this baby and I love when she tries to eat my face. We love her big smiles and excited feet. We love our Mil girl!

Millie is 6 months old! She is roughly 20 pounds and 23 inches. OK – INSERT – my nurse was new and in over her head. She was frazzled the whole time and to say it nicely she was clueless. I did overload them with 3 appointments at one time BUT with the regular nurses it would have been fine. I just weighed and measured Millie here at the house and she is 17 pounds and 25 inches.

She Still LOVES the bumbo as all of these pictures will show – that’s where we get lots of smiles.

She is a good sleeper but she has decided to go to bed early like at 6:30 or 7:30 and then she wants to spend the 2-6am hours snuggled in my bed. I love snuggles but not all night long. I tried a bottle before bed last night but that made her gassy and in my bed even more.

Millie can still only roll from back to stomach. She is still SAFE on the couch. She likes to chew on her toys and hold on to toys or blankets. She sucks her thumb when she gets tired. She scratches her face all the time :(. She does not get swaddled. She does have a nap time Minnie Mouse in her bed that she seems to enjoy listening to to fall asleep.

I love my Millie Marie. She really is a good baby. The girls help “take Care” of her and even Raymond likes his “Mil girl”.
