Harper is home from his mission! I still think that it’s neat that he served in Sacramento CA and so now he’s familiar with my home, the weather, the type of people. Welcome Home!

Are actually winning and playing well in the playoffs!!!

I don’t know much else about it but I know Ben is excited and I know Ben has worn all of his Brewers apparel and I know that it’s fun to see them keep winning (even as I wear my San Fran Giants Sweatshirt while I type this)!

    Ryan and Mary visit

Ryan got here on Friday night/Saturday morning at 3:30am and slept in. We said hi and then ran to soccer games while listening to the prophet announce epic changes to the church schedule! We came home and checked in and then went to Ray’s game and then checked in before Rose’s game. After Rose’s game we hurried home to watch Womens General Conference with Mary and Tree and Cali and Rose and Marlee and Brinlee and Clara. Conference was AWESOME. Ben took Benji, Packer and Ray to the RSL game. Then that evening we had ice cream and did a puzzle and chatted until midnight.

Sunday morning we had a yummy breakfast and then watched conference. Ryan and Mary had things with Mary’s family and the kids were back and forth with grandparents. We had Kelsey and Sean and Jana over for dinner. And then Ben and I got a few games in with Ryan. Annie wasn’t feeling to well all weekend.

On Monday we played some more and Ryan van Shopped and we had FHE and had some fun. And we babysat Becker and Bennet over night.

Tuesday was Ryans last day so we ended the day at Sodaliscious – – which wasn’t that great but it was great to chat one more time with Ryan and Mary before sending them up to Ogden to see Shan and Kel and get their kids. We sure like it when family comes and stays with us. I love that one on one time and learning and seeing their personalities and strengths.

    Rose is 8!

Rose Kristine just turned 8! She is so fun and so excited to get baptized and start going to activity days!

We showered her with gifts in the morning before school: skates, LOL’s, American Girl Doll Accessories, pillow, Legos, Uma Costume and Eliza Costume.

After school she just wanted to play with her toys and skates. Then I had her go to her soccer training since we had already missed one. And we had BEAN BURRITOS for dinner. Gentry came over after soccer so that they could play and we ended the night with Cake and Ice Cream!

We are planning a party for another day. She got this outfit and LOL’s from Grandparents Robertson. She is going to get baptized on November 3. Rose is so very kind and playful. She is helpful at home and great with all of her siblings. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROSE!

    My BUSY FAITH BUILDING WEEK

SEPTEMBER 24th – 30th. Such a busy Monday through Sunday. My normal week is not too busy but we have 5 soccer practices and benji’s football and scouts. After school we have homework and baggie books and chores and fun… Anyway so this week happened to be the week that Emily was scheduled to have her brain surgery and I wanted to be available to help with her kids as needed. On the Sunday before the crazy I found out that the ministering interviews that I was planning to do in October had to be done and recorded in September, so by the next Sunday. So I added interviewing 32 women to my to do list. I had also committed to giving a talk in sacrament meeting so I needed to study and prepare for that. I had a baby shower, a baby blessing and Cali’s soccer game one of the nights. I needed to go to the Temple before the end of the week because that would be the end of the month and I’ve been going to the temple once a month for the last 2 and a half years!

Now this also happened to be my birthday week. So I wanted to enjoy my puzzle day and my bday with my family and SO I NEEDED to have everything done by Thursday night 🙂 I had 4 days to fit everything in… I told Heavenly Father my plan and that I wanted to to all of these things without being grumpy mom! AND I HAD A GREAT WEEK.  I was able to go to the temple, interview all of my district, prepare my talk, babysit 2 of the days for Emily, and I had the house clean for my puzzle day! AND I got my hair cut and I bought everything for and planned Rose’s birthdya since that was the coming up Monday morning! AND I potty trained Tiago!

Really I felt like Heavenly Father blessed and doubled my efforts. AMAZING!

We ended the week at Joel’s house with family celebrating Mae and Dagny and sighing a HUGE sigh of relief that we made it successfully through a crazy week.

    My 39th Birthday!!

I celebrated my birthday a day early because a Saturday Birthday was not suited to doing my puzzle! So I spent Friday at home working on my puzzle! I truly love my puzzle day. Erica and Abbie came over in the morning to help and pamper and chat our way through the puzzle. Jamie came at lunch. Erica came back after school and so did all the kids. Abbie came back after getting her kids and Jamie came back at night with all of the other Nettesheim crew! Such a FUN day!!

Friday night we had family over to celebrate Mom Netty’s birthday! We finished the 2nd puzzle and talked and had cake and ice cream.

LaNelland Michelle and Kelsey came to wish me a Happy Birthday too! On Saturday Kelsey hung out with us. We went to Benji’s soccer game then we opened all of my presents. Ben spoiled me with shoes and sweatshirts, a book and a BYU shirt and football! After presents I went over to Souper Saturday at the church and then back home to go to Ray’s soccer game.

After Rays game we all went to Taco Amigo for a glacier!

And then to Rose’s game! It was a nice sunny flip flop weather day!

Then we ran home to watch the BYU game and ordered Pizza and Thai Curry and then Kristin showed up on my porch with a Beautiful cake!

39 years old feels good so far!

    Emily’s Brain Surgery

On September 25th Emily had her brain surgery!

She went in early in the morning to get prepped and was in surgery for 3-4 hours. The plan was to remove the most infected and most swollen temporal part of her brain. They said there should be little to no side effects. They did a biopsy of the tissue/tumor/brain that they removed. They said that surgery was successful and went well. Emily spent the next week in the hospital. Mostly in the Cardiac Unit to monitor her hearts response to surgery. The dr.s and therapists have all had to juggle who and what attention to give.

This is an xray of her heart with Pacemaker. And the picture of her head stapled back together after surgery!

The night before surgery we went to wish her well:

The Morning of surgery I went to the EARLY session at the temple:

We got to babysit Becker and Bennett for part of the day on Tuesday and Wednesday. They enjoyed Cali’s trip to the orthodontist and all of our kids enjoyed holding and feeding Becker:

Ben spent one of his lunches at the Hospital with Emily and Michelle:

Now Emily is back home with her Mom and Dad. We are all working to help her and the family while Schyleur is away getting some help.

The Biopsy Results via Michelle and Dad (October 8th):

Emily has a Grade 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma. The dr actually said this was a good one because it should respond well to treatment. After treated it most likely wil grow back but he can’t guess on when. They just have to watch it.

Treatment: First 6 weeks- Chemo pill every day with radiation M-F each week, then radiation is done. Round figures: rest a month, then chemo pills the first week of each month for the next 6 months.

Side affects… with radiation she will be fatigued, loss of hair where they do the radiation, possible problems with memory, thinking and focusing for four to six months, her hearing may be affected she may hear ringing or her hearing may change on that side, her smell may be affected which then affects her taste and her appetite.
Chemo side affects are fatigue, nausea, constipation.

Lots of Prayers being said for Emily and the rest of the family!
