    NFL Play Off Game

The Green Bay Packers were the number 1 seed. We had a bye the first week. Now a home game Saturday night against the 49ers. Of course the Robertsons are all cheering against us!

The game was cold and snowy and … to make a long story short – it was heart breaking! We had no offense and our special teams STUNK again 🙁 – we lost 13-10 on a last minute 9ers field goal.

    AF Tournament

Packer was back at it early Saturday. Ben and I got the schedule and then would try to go over and catch him on the mat. We watched 3 and missed 1. He lost the first 3 matches…

But the last match was AMAZING! Packer was getting beat. I thought he was going to lose for sure but then at the end of the 2nd period he got a take down. Coach told him to let him up and do it again so Packer did! and then 3rd period Packer just flipped the switch. He pulled this amazing PIN!

An at home Learning Day! The kids all had home school for the day – again trying to slow the spread of Covid and let the teachers recover and get healthy enough to teach!

We had Megan bring the kids over to play for the day! We hadn’t seen them since Christmas – it’s harder to get together now that Gus has school.

    Las Vegas

Cali’s team signed up for a tournament in Las Vegas so here we go!

We drove down on Friday – left around 11am. It ended up being an at home learning day because EVERYONE has been out with Covid! We brought Anna with us. We ate lunch – uncrustables in the car and then were ready for dinner when we got there.

We had to leave Benji home to go to his Adams Family Rehearsals all weekend and we had to leave Packer home to go his wrestling tournament. So weird not to have them with us!

We checked in to our hotel – Hampton Inn – Summerlin – (small rooms, no pool :)) And then we met up with the Falabellas at Jersey Mikes for dinner. Then the girls had their first game that night at 8:00.

And they played again Saturday morning at 9am. Ben and I left the kids at the hotel watching movies during the morning game! Cali didn’t get to start but she came off the bench each half and would play the rest of the half. She is working on being aggressive -first to the ball and use her body to shield. They lost both games. Coach was mad – said they need to talk more.

We went back and got the kids and then out to PIZZA at GIORDANO’s. It was a LONG wait. But Delicious.

Then we got everyone to go DOWNTOWN to the M and M store! We wandered the store and the Coca Cola Store and the ROSS. The feather girls with no shirts on were pretty gross but otherwise we had a good time.

the coca cola store: Millie wanted to ride the elevator SO BAD!

We rested up for a minute and then headed out for Cali’s 7:00 soccer game that night. They played so well. They were pumped up. They were fast to the ball and teh team was more their skill level – – and they SCORED a goal! Ended up tying 1-1.

Dinner Time at In and Out with family and a few teammates. Rose had some fun with the stickers! We headed back to the hotel and fell asleep to a movie. I went to bed early each night!

We didn’t make it to the final Monday round of games but we HAD to pay for the hotel through Sunday so we spent Sunday in Vegas. We watched church on Zoom and we face timed Benji and Packer to do our come follow me. That afternoon we met up with the cousins at a park and hung out there most of the day.

We ate sandwiches at the hotel for dinner and then chilled. The kids got together and made a music video to We Don’t Talk About Bruno – Encanto. We got up earlyish Monday morning and came home. It was Martin Luther King Day so no school. We stopped and got Craigo’s breadsticks on the drive home. Ben worked from the car.

Benji and Packer did good without us. They took good care of each other and of the dog. Amanda had them over for sunday dinner so they loved that.

    Wednesday January 12th

Benji and I finally went SNOWBOARDING! Wednesday is early out so Benji and I went up after lunch. The main lift broke right when we got there so we went over to Jakes Lift and I don’t know that area so… it was a bit too steep and icy – -BUT Benji did good! He stayed on his feet most of the time. He had a hard time steering the board but he was handling it! He did fall once really hard on his shoulder and wrist but he powered thru. We did 2 or 3 runs and called it good. We plan to go back when the conditions are better.

I thought I might have Covid this week. The new covid is lots of cold symptoms. I went out to dinner Monday night with Ben and the bishopric – Jared and Melinda and Angi and Adam. After dinner my throat started hurting. It was very distinct and just my throat. The next morning I was stuffy and head achy. My throat still hurt and some body aches. I decided to have a rest day. I rested all day Tuesday to try to sleep it off. Then Wednesday morning I wake up feeling bleh again but as soon as I get moving I was feeling pretty good. Now I’m debating if I should still take Benji boarding and if I should go to Las Vegas this weekend for Cali’s tournament… I looked into getting tested but the hospital says its about a 72 hour wait to get results!! That won’t help me! BUT – I had ordered a pack of home tests the first of the year and they arrived in the mail right then! So i took the at home Covid test Wednesday at lunch time. I tested Negative. So life goes on. We went ahead and did all the things but I wasn’t feeling 100%. (also important to note that EVERYONE has been sick or quarantining. The kids said no one has been in class – like 10 kids missing out of 25. Omicron Covid is going crazy.)

    MONDAY JANUARY 10, 2022

I finally got to use my birthday present! I went up to Sundance. I left the house at 8:30. Drove up by myself and jumped onto the ski lift around 9am. I snowboarded for 2 hours. I stayed on the front mountain and just got comfortable. I was home by 11:30. I have my original snowboard from my college days – a Ride 135. I’ve been using a pair of boots that Brady left here that are just a little bigger than my OG’s. I love how easy it was to be up there and enjoy those hours.
