    COACHing

SO here is our set up. Ben is coaching 4 teams. Benji on Mondays 4:30-6:00, Rose on Tuesdays 4:30-5:30, Millie on Wednesdays 4:30-5:30, Ray on Thursdays 4:30-5:30. I go over with the kids and the equipment at 4:15 and get set up and Ben gets there at 4:30 to coach. It’s been hot and busy but kind of fun too. Sometimes the kids like to go to each others practices. We all like to go to Millie’s practice.

I thought I’d maybe want to coach Millie’s team BUT I’m just not feeling it. I’m kind of warn out with little kids by the afternoon and I kind of see how good Ben is at it – He is a natural and he has a million and 2 games in his back pocket to use as needed. He really is the best . Especially with these younger teams. So I am doing my part with setup and getting Cali to her practices and putting dinner on the table and letting Ben continue to ben THE COACH.

Cali and her team got to be the ball girls at the BYU soccer game. Rose and I decided to go and watch her and watch the game. We sat with Matt and Jamie and Ellie and had a blast. Cali was right at midfield and had to stay focused the whole time. It was a BYU whooping.

    1st Counselor

We got called in to meet with the Stake President on Sunday August 11th and Ben got called to be the 1st Counselor in the new bishopric! We were pretty surprised but excited to serve. The next Sunday we were supposed to be coming home from the wedding in CA but we came home early so that we could be there for the calling, sustaining, setting apart and everything that happened that Sunday the 18th. Ben was ordained to the office of High Priest! It was great to be there and it feels like the perfect calling at this time!

Ben will be serving with Bishop Jared Mitchell and Adam Harris and Dana Stott. He and Adam were the Tecahers Quorum Leaders so they got to fulfill that calling a few more weeks while they got new leaders in place. Here they are at TibbleFork with the YM.

I’m also getting released since Melinda had to get released. It took 3 weeks but they just got Kim to be the new president and I handed my things off to Holly, and Lori and Sherry. I loved serving in the RS Presidency. My favorite part was getting to know and visit with some women in the ward thtat I hadn’t even really met. And I loved getting to know BOTH of my presidencies! I love those ladies a lot. So I’m callingless for now and trying to capitolize on my ministering assignments and MOTHERING.

I’m happy to report that after not seeing each other for 20 years we had a great visit and are still friends. We have great basketball, lunches at my house, seminary, and learning to drive memories. It was so fun to see the great life that Lisa has made for her and her family. See ya soon.

Benji chose to hit the Pickleball courts! We played about 3 games and worked on our serves and on putting spin on the ball. We had such a good time on the court. Of course I tried to talk about life and school and friends and girls but we mostly talked smack and focused on the game.

We got rained on a little but we stuck it out and enjoyed being cooled off. We headed to Sodalicious to use Benji’s FREE drink and then to Costa Vida because he chose a burrito over a milk shake.

Benji is getting so grown up. It was a blast to spend the afternoon with him.

    Packer

Packer wanted to hike so I chose Stewart Falls! I didn’t really know what I was doing but we tapped it into the GPS and went for it. Packer was a great hiker and didn’t complain at all. He is a natural.

I tried to talk about life and stuff but he kept bringing up nature and how beautiful the view was and what kind of trees we were seeing and wondering about the avalanche that bent all of the trees over in one section. He noticed the tree roots in the path and the cool rocks. Really a natural hiker!

We did make it to the falls but the water was way to cold for either one of us to want to get in. We got our feet wet and crossed the river and chilled for a minute before hiking back. We grabbed onion rings and milk shakes on the drive home. 4 hours well spent.

Cali and I headed out to Roller Blade. We went to the Provo River trail that leads to Utah Lake. Our first stop was actually to Target to get the new boots that she really wanted for school!

Cali has gotten pretty good on her blades and we took right off. We talked about life and the new school year. We talked about roller blading skills and about the smooth newly paved trail vs. the old one where we had to avoid the holes.

We smiled and laughed and only held hands a couple of times cause its easier to blade not holding hands. When we got back to the car we HAD to jump in the river and cool off and grab a Frosty for the drive home! Cali was so fun to hang out with.

Rose and I chilled out at the pond! We grabbed drinks before we went and soaked in the sun. We found a nice spot to set up. Then Rose paddled around in the kayak while I got my raft blown up. We swam together and jumped off the dock together.

I let Rose pull me around on my floatie. We ate sun flower seeds and chatted about how much we love swimming and playing and we wish the other kids could come here with us.

I had to pull Rose out of the water after a few hours so we could go home and get back to reality. She was so fun to be with and we had a great adventure.

    Ray

Raymond chose to Hike to the Y. We went in the morning and were blessed with an overcast day. When we started Ray was exploring and jumping around. A few feet later he was tired and resting on the rocks. We had fun making it to each switch back and trying to keep on going until we got to the top.

We chatted a little about school and friends but we mostly chatted about nature and things on the hike. Ray was very observant about the plants and trail and cloud cover.

When we got to the top we had to touch the Y and sit at the top and count the temples that we could see. We had to stay as far away from the bees as we could and then we hurried down the mountain. Ray pretty much ran down. I think that was one of his favorite parts. We stopped for a BYU Creamery Ice Cream on the was home!
