    Mother’s Day

I had a wonderful mother’s day. The kids (Ben) made me crepes and let me be lazy and hide out in my bedroom until 9:30! They showered me with gifts and tried to be good at church. I am a very lucky and blessed mom. In the evening we had Ben’s mom and dad and 2 sisters and families over for dinner!

It was hard not to be selfish and self absorbed because I am surrounded by 7 amazing kids and my husband spoils me. But I did try to reach out to my mom and mother in law and grandma. They are AMAZING Moms and I aspire to be just like them.

I thought Tiago might surprise me and go to nursery but he only lasted 10 minutes. Millie also had some great mothers day gifts including dumping the bread on the floor and spanking her booty in the aisle! MOTHERHOOD. I did have 6 of my 7 kids in the primary choir and that was lovely!

    The Backpack

I bought a couple of 10$ backpacks at Walmart 8 years ago. Benji started using 1 of them in Kindergarten and has had the same back pack EVERY year of Elementary school!! The zipper just broke this last week 🙁  He’s finishing out the last 3 weeks with a new backpack.

Packer had his 3rd pinewood Derby! Ben was so busy this year that Packer really made the car by himself! He designed it. Grandpa helped him cut it. He sanded it. I helped him paint it. Ben helped him put the wheels on. Benji and he did the graphite. And then he raced:

HE GOT 4TH PLACE OVERALL! 2nd place in the backward race. He had a fun night.

    Happy Birthday to Ben!!

The kids insist on giving presents before school and work! They all loved dads new toys and they spent a lot of time making him an arcade themed calendar:

Erica watched the kids while Tiago and I took Ben out for a birthday lunch. We enjoyed the food and Tiago enjoyed the time with just Mom and Dad:

With the new job ans all, Ben had to work all day. We had a busy day making the cake, babysitting Bennett, finishing packers Pinewood Derby car, soccer practice for Ben and Rose and the Derby for Packer. Then we came home and had cake and ice cream with Grandma and Grandpa:

    Ben is the best!

    Beautiful May

the weather was so cold… and now it has been so nice. I am loving being outside and so are the kids.

We stopped at the school because Ben is there every night for soccer practice. Kelsey saw us and stopped and they got a little 4 square game going:

It was warm enough for water balloons and Wet Head and Water balloon Hot Potato and water Tables:

Joel and Sean and Derek have been working hard on the floating campground! Not warm up there:

These 2 kids have been SOO VERY clingy. Here they are watching me mow the lawn cause they don’t want me out of their sight:

A little soccer and football and jumping on the tramp. The kids love to go out after dinner and postpone bedtime :

Soccer Saturday (Benji’s team). Soccer Ice cream (I stayed home with Ago), and RSL with Fam and Friends.

    Ray Rider!

    We’ve got another Bike Rider!

He decided he was done with his training wheels. He saw Cedar adn Rose and Gentry doing it so … he did it. His bike was a little big so we borrowed this little one from the cousins and he took off. I ran up and down the street with him 2 times and that was it! Now he can ride his bike and he is learning to start and stop from a stand still because he learned by coasting down the driveway. I’m excited to get back out there with him! Hooray for nice weather and BikeS!

and of course all the girls were riding bikes too:

    Mom and Tracie

Mom and Tracie came for another Utah trip! They came on Wednesday evening and went home the next Wednesday evening. Tracie had a dental conference the first few days and Mom spent lots of time with her sisters and mom the last two days. We packed lots of fun and family in around our nightly Nertz games and the kids played hard with Tracie’s 3 little kids.

On Monday Tracie, Mom and Megan helped me in my kitchen!! It was amazing. I’d been needing to Caulk the counter tops and sink and I needed to seal the granite so… they all helped me clean and work and we got it all done. After that we took the kids to the park for the evening and then hurried home to see how Ben’s first day at the new job went and to see how Aunt Carol was doing since she just got out of the hospital.

These guys and Ray and Bubs had sleepovers in the loft all week.

and the 4 of us girls played Nertz until midnight all week 🙂 for real, we played A LOT of Nertz and had a blast.

I am inheriting all of my mother’s ailments 🙁 I hope to inherit all of her GOODness and Whit and Charity and Patience but… I have inherited the scoliosis, possible skin cancer, one leg significantly shorter than the other, … I’m going to try to not need knee replacements or eye surgery!

    Tiago loving Hadley:

With Aunt Carol being so sick we got a couple extra days to play while mom spent time with Diane and Carol. On Wednesday we had perfect weather so we pulled out all of the bikes and the kids had a blast out in the front yard.

Erica made us ride our bikes to the park after that! and we had a picnic:

We said our goodbye’s and Tracie and Mom left right after dinner on Wednesday the 3rd.
