The Demolition Derby

We went to the Utah County Demolition Derby last night! What is it about seeing cars ram each other that is just so amazing! If I didn’t have children I think I would enter the Powder Puff event. I’ve always wanted to drive into another car and smash stuff with no consequence and no injury. Good thing I didn’t find out about these Derby’s until 5 years ago, just after Benji was born. We have been every year since and we always have a great time. And we always say that we won’t bring the kids next time but… we always bring them.

Some of last nights action. We also got a fire, a knockout, and a few barriers knocked over.

I just found our previous years at the derby – here’s a flash back…

    2005 – in Heber City.

We added a trophy this year for the winner, the winner is whoever picks the most winning cars ( don’t worry, we have official rules and score cards for all of this.)

We had a really big group this year. Packer is 3 months here.

I really don’t know if I will take the kids next year. This is the end of the night – 10pm and we needed our beds.

We got home late and were exhausted but it was fun and I’m glad that we carried on the tradition this year. And it was the first year that Benji didn’t plug his ears the whole time!

    1. Jana, I do believe that you did drive a car into another car and smash it without any consequences or injury…other than being excluded off of our insurance!! Wasn’t it our blue Hyundi??? We love you Jana!!

    2. i’m just commenting cause i’m still not over the GIjoe picture. my whole family has looked out it and my mom thinks you should try and contact them and make some money off it. jason just thinks its so freaking cool but we want to know how long it took to get everyone’s outfits together. is ben in there? i can only spot you.
