I get to go to New York! Ben has a work conference. I am tagging along. It’s our 5 year wedding anniversary! So what are the must do’s in New York? Anyone that has been I would love to hear what I should put on my agenda. I’m really excited. This is the first time that Ben and I have left the kids and gone on our own. Overdue? For Sure – I take full responsibility. I’ve been told that it is time to let go. my mommas boys can survive without me, it’s time to see if I can survive without them… so August 7th, New York City, here I come! Thank You to everyone that is helping with our boys!

    1. I am so jealous of you! New York is awesome! Make sure to see a broadway show while you are there! It is really fun! They have fun dinner cruises off of Ellis Island too! If you decide to check out the top of the empire state building then find out how much it sways, I think it sways like 5 to 7 feet or something like that! Have tons of fun!

    2. I love New York. You have to go see the broadway Wicked. It is fantastic and one of my favorites. You need to go to cafe lalo. It has some fun frozen yogurt. It is on the movie You have got mail. Do you like the late show or the today show…actually the today show is going to be in Bejing this week I think. I think you should do one of the open bus tours. They are fun for your first time. You should get broadway tickets at TKTS….it is in time square and way cheaper…it is day of tickets. I also love Lion King and Little shop of Horrors. Oh, you have to see Wicked. Have a fantastic time.

    3. It is soooo weird leavin’ behind the chitlins… but it is definately a nice break too. We got you beat though…. our first getaway was at the 6 1/2 year mark. But it was only to the Bay Area. So New York huh? Oh boy…. so much to do there… so much to see and enjoy! #1…. YANKEE STADIUM! Whether you’re a fan or not, this is their last season in that stadium… so I would definately go to a game. #2… The main sites like Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building ect… #3 Brooklynn Bridge is way cool… the architecture is amazing and they did it all by hand. #4 of course the Temple in Manhattan #5 like the others have said… a Broadway of some sort #6 just walk around Times Square… they have tons of stuff down there. #7 Central Park is beautiful, but we are used to parks so that isn’t a must or anything #8 You gotta make sure you eat some pizza pie… it is amazing and my absolute favorite. I don’t have a particular fave place… but all of it is good. And the list can go on forever…. but there are a few ideas for you anyway. If you have any more questions… let me know. Love you!!

    4. Holy cow, I missed a lot of posts! Congrats on the girl! Girls are soo fun! Wahoo for a no-kid vacation! Have fun!

    5. Man, I wish I would have read this earlier…hopefully you check your blog. I hope you have fun! NY is the coolest place. So much to do, even if you stayed a week you wouldn’t see it all! My best advice, and maybe you’ll do this, is to see the main events (Empire, Statue, Central Park etc) BUT walk the neighborhoods! It’s just so fun to walk and see how each one is different…such a change from the West. You have to eat at John’s Pizzeria…it’s so famous and so good. We’ve tried several and it’s our fave. It’s right by the theaters, easy to find. And I would say go to Magnolia Bakery for a famous cupcake, but I think they got shut down for health code reasons! But man the cupcakes are goood. 🙂
