The best Church Calling Ever

I am a relief society teacher and I love it. This has got to be the best calling ever. It is fulfilling. People compliment you and appreciate and make you feel good after you give a lesson. And it is only once a month! the rest of the time you get to sit back and appreciate everyone else. Maybe this will be my eternal calling…

Things that really hit home for me in todays lesson were:

‘Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.’ [Matthew 5:9.]

We can cultivate peace by honoring one another and refusing to find fault.  – – Honor One Another – REFUSE to find FAULT! – I believe that there are 2 types of people in this world – The Ones you love and the ones you don’t know yet – it’s hard to blame someone you love and know. Give people the benefit of the doubt!

and the section from “The Life of The Prophet” reminded me of  the  Mike Wallace 1996 Interview With The President Of The Mormon Church. President Hinckley was AMAZING in this interview. I loved his answers. I loved his simplicity. This was a real testimony builder for me in high school.

    1. I am glad you recapped your lesson. It was actually just what I needed to hear. Being a RS teacher is the best calling. It is so easy but you learn a ton just by pondering your lesson all month. I loved it. I miss it.

    2. I know–I miss it already! It really stretches your understanding of the gospel. I even told the new RS presidency I’d LOVE to teach if they ever needed someone. You really did a great job yesterday…

    3. REALLY??? The best calling ever???? I have to sub in a couple of weeks and I am NOT excited about it, I don’t love to teach and especially not adults. Wish me luck!!! See there is something for everyone right?

    4. To me, the easiest calling ever is teaching the youth. I have sucj a hard time with the adults. I am a RS teacher too. And I’m teaching the peacemakers lesson this week. If you wanna send any good ideas this way, you can. BTW… we’ll be seeing you Labor Day weekend in Fort Bragg! Yahooooo!!

    5. I agree, it is the only calling I’m not totally afraid of. (Just kind of afraid) I haven’t done it in forever but I loved it when I had the chance to teach. Mostly b/c it helped me, not the people I was teaching! 🙂
