We went on Friday after visiting Grandma and then on Saturday on our way up to Door County!!
We visited both locations!
Uncle Rick did the shopping and the grilling! It was fun to spend time with him and Phoenix and Marek.
We got to visit Grandma at her care center in Fon Du Lac, Wisconsin. She is such a fun person to talk to. We were sad she couldn’t come to the Rushes this year.
We drove to the park from Naperville and got there before it opened.
SIX FLAGS here we come! and we were sweltering in the humidity while we waited for the park to open:
First Rides:
And then we made the best purchase of the day – 3 ALL YOU CAN DRINK CUPS!
They had lots of kid areas while bigger kids rode the Roller Coasters!!
We all went on the Raging Water Ride!
Ben and I would switch off taking the little kids and big kids on the different rides. We wanted to go on all of the big coasters so Benji and the ones that were tall enough and brave enough got to go on all of the big rides at least twice!
Water Rides were a must:
Justice League Coaster and SUPERMAN coaster:
This was Ray and Millie’s favorite ride – they rode it about 20 times!!
Classic Carousel:
And then we met up with Tweety and Bugs and Daffy and Taz!!!
And we closed out the night running to all of our favorite rides!
The little kids stayed on the spinning thing and danced with the characters and we closed the park down a little after 9pm.
Six flags did a great job of having enough kid zones near the good coasters. I thiught it was a great set up. And it helped that our 3 year old is over 36 inches so we could ALL go on quite a few of the rides together.
We left and drove 1 hour to Rick and Jen’s house to spend the night.
On Wednesday the 4th We drove some more and stopped in Naperville Illinois. We read about a Rib Fest and Fireworks festival so we checked in at the hotel and then went to the festival:
Unfortunately there was Lightning and they closed down the festival and wouldn’t let anyone else in 🙁
So instead of Ribs we went to the classic Steak ‘n Shake for dinner:
Then we headed back to the festival just to make sure it was still a no go. We got in this time but barely had a chance to look around before they kicked everyone out and closed it down again. Fireworks were postponed until the next night 🙁
So we spent the evening playing glow sticks in the hotel room 🙂
