Ray is 9 years old!! He is very chill. He likes to play football and basketball, soccer and wrestling. He is a good student at school and he is a good kid at home! Meanwhile back in Sacramento – on Saturday the 13th dad had been moved out of the covid unit that week and the dr made a special exception for mom to come visit with dad! She went and spent an hour or two with him on Saturday afternoon!
And then Mom went back on Sunday to drop off his Valentine! She was going to leave it with the reception desk but he couldn’t find anyone to take it up to dad so then mom had him check the list of special exceptions and she was still on the list so she got to go up and hand deliver the valentine and see him and visit a little!
(Talking with mom later on she said that it was so good to see him and very sweet and she was so grateful. But he was still very sick. He was preoccupied with needing to go to the bathroom and trying to talk with the tube. He was happy to see her but he didn’t seem very focused on her or coming home or getting the new house ready or really any of the things that we were focused on. We later discovered that he never opened his valentine or any of the things people sent to try and communicate or cheer him up.)
