Some Days are Busier than Others

And This Was A Busy One!

7:30 – Cali wakes up and needs to eat

8:00 – Let Cali wake Ben up and make him get up for work.

8:15 – Vacuum downstairs so that I can do an exercise TV workout.

8:20 – Try to workout but the vacuum must have tripped the wire or whatever that would be called cause the Cable Box reset and Exercise TV will be available shortly. A few situps later Benji wakes up… looks like exercise is not top of the list anymore.

8:30 – Breakfast for the boys – well if you count sippies and cereal in a bag as breakfast that is.

8:45 – Laundry, Dishes, Emails, Cali down for a nap,  Lesson Prep for Sunday, make lunch, find Mikilas long lost overdue movie, get kids dressed.

11:00 – Play group and picnic with the ward. Lots of peops came and my boys actually went and played instead of sitting on my blanket with me so it was a success. They even got brave enough to try the big trampoline by the end.

1:00 – Grab some stuff and load the kids in the car for some afternoon errands.

1:30 – See LaNell on her bike ride, she had only gone 15 miles – just started – (psycho)!

2:00 – stop at the bank

2:20 – Mikilas work to give her the movie cause really can you pay 30 bucks for an old used lost movie.

2:30 – grab balloons and Candy for Grandpa Johnsons 86th?? birthday.

2:45 – Go to my grandparents house in Orem. They’ve been at their “summer home” in Kanab recently and go back tomorrow so we were glad to catch them before they left. Benji and Packer chose to stay there while I took Cali to the Dr. which is weird if you know my mommas boys but they do really well with their great grandparents and Benji didn’t want to hear Cali cry when she got her shots.

3:30 – Cali to her 6 month well check. Healthy Happy Baby – weighed in at 15.3 and 25 and 1/2 inches. 3 shots and we were out of there.

4:10 – Pick up the boys and say goodbye to my GP’s.

4:20 – Stop at the mall, say hi to Joel and hit a few stores.

5:15 – Home Sweet Home. Try calling the concrete guy one more time…

    5:30 – Hotdogs for dinner.

6:00 – Clean Up, kids playing, Ben not home yet.

6:10 – more laundry, I’m tired, Ben is working from home between 7and 9pm so the kids and I head upstairs for some Toy Story 2. That’s a good movie – we watched it twice 🙂 There’s a 3rd one coming out right? can’t wait. I snuck in a few phone calls with family and friends and planning for tomorrow. Called my Dad – he’s home alone  – that doesn’t happen often at my parents place so I thought I would check in.

9:00 – Sing songs with the boys. Cali goes to bed.

9:10 – teeth, scriptures and prayers. Bedtime for the boys.

9:30 – Time to do my blog. Some ‘us’ time – he’s on his computer and I’m on mine – we’re both doing computer stuff so that counts – right?

IMG_2031and my super happy baby even with the immunizations this afternoon. She’s just learning to sit. Don’t you just want to kiss those cheeks? I do. Love her.

Packers Trip to the Cardiologist and more

Packer has had a heart murmur since birth but the Dr suggested we get it checked out just to have a better idea since he’s just a Family Practice Dr. So we went to Primary Children’s this afternoon and Packer did great and it turns out that its just your normal flow murmur that lots of kids have and usually outgrow around the age of 8 or 9. We were thinking that this was the case but its good to know and now there are no worries.

While there the Doctor asked if we were Green Bay Packer fans… I was bewildered that he could guess that by just a few seconds in the room with us. I looked around to see if any of us had on our Packer shirts or what the clue was… Anyway – the big clue was obviousdly our sons name! I’m a little slow these days in the brain strength category.

I’m glad that we had the test done and greatful that the results were exactly what we hoped to hear. My Father-in-Law actually had a minor heart attack this past week while they were here visiting, that was a little scary but he seems to be pulling through just fine. So we’ve had our share of Cardiologists for now.

I'm glad that I don't have to worry about my little Pac Man - being healthy is such a blessing - I have always taken our good health for granted but I am starting to understand how blessed I have been.

We said goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa Nettesheim yesterday. We had a lot of fun with them and were sad to see them leave. Luckily we get to see them in Wisconsin in a few weeks so goodbye wasn’t as hard this time.

It was 9pm-ish and Packer was struggling.

And here are our long lost friends… felt like we hadn’t seen the Hancocks in a long time. The kids were all happy to see each other on Sunday night and especially happy when Than played London Bridges, Duck Duck Goose, Cheep cheep, Red Light Green Light and Do as I’m Doing with them. Good Times.

We went to the Hogle Zoo on Monday – the 5 of us and Grandma and Grandpa. It was a little over cast with a chance of rain but no rain so the people stayed away but we were dry but not roasting – Hence.. the perfect zoo day! and boys and baby did great – that helped make it perfect.

The boys were obsessed with their Zoo Maps – Benji made sure that we found all of the animals and he did really good at figuring out where we were.

This is the cage that had a very loud, talkative monkey in it the first time we went to the zoo – now when we go back we keep looking for him but… no monkey this time.

Our other fun was when we were stopped and waiting to look at the wolf, we saw a bird and out of the blue it started talking to us. It said Hi and Hello but then it said “Packer” or atleast it sounded like that but Benji will tell you that he was just saying “Cracker” because that’s what birds say 🙂

    Worn Out!

Is anyone else worn out? We’ve had Ben’s parents in town for these 2 weeks and have been on the go… parks, games, campouts, sheepshead, kites, zoo, eating and hanging out. Then you add in our regular stuff… meetings, playgroups, appointments, my family, shopping, and cleaning. No wonder I am tired. I think Cali is trying to catch up on sleep for all of us… she is still in bed this morning… been there since the baby sitter put her down at 7:30 last night. Going on 15 hours!

    CAMP OUT

    img_1897

We did a Thursday night camp out in Matt and Jamies backyard! I love camping and this may have been the cleanest wimpiest camping ever but we had a lot of fun. We ate our tinfoil dinners and roasted marshmallows. Kids rode bikes and played soccer and ran around with glow sticks and they watched a movie on the projector outside while the adults enjoyed the campfire. Perks of camping in the backyard: bathrooms!, didn’t have to pack a bunch of water or drinks, when we got marshmallowy fingers we could clean them easily, no dirt, and that grass was a lot more comfortable than pine cones and rocks. I did miss the dirt and nature of real camping but this was great. We had a wasp, a mosquito Eater and a moth in our tent this morning so we were the first ones up. All of the Dads got up and went to work leaving cleanup and breaking camp to the ladies – THANKS boys. And now I am enjoying a quiet afternoon because all of my children are sleeping soundly. I vote we do this every Thursday night!

    Cali Meets her Grandparents!

    Kris and Cali

Cali got to meet Grandma and Grandpa Nettesheim for the first time on Monday. We’ll be sure to get a picture with Grandpa before they leave – we’ve got lots of plans with them for the next week and a half.  Last night we got in a game of Sheepshead and tonight we’ll be doing Brats!

Yesterday I went to our ward playgroup and had a good time with my neighbors. We took this picture with all of the babies that were there – this is about half of the 2008 – 2009 baby boom.

    Things on my mind

Little Grass Valley. Does anyone remember when we’d go up there every Memorial Day and camp? I have great memories of camping, hiking, getting rained on… I think that 3 years of rain and a little snow one year finally ended the tradition 🙁 that’s when the Hancock’s stepped up and started the BBQ tradition. This Memorial trip and the Labor Day Fort Bragg camping were the 2 trips that we did every year when I was a kid. Thanks for the great memories Mom and Dad! maybe next memorial we’ll have to do something more than Sonic at the Park and working in the garden – sorry my kids:)

Cali has an eagle eye. That girl can spot me a mile away. Aren’t babies supposed to have limited range or something. Anyway – she finds me wherever I am and throws a fit if I don’t stop and pick her up. I’m afraid I’m getting a little dose of the tantrums that I used to give my dad!

A project a Day: I decided that that is what I am all about right now. I have a million projects on my want and need to get done list so I am trying for one a day. Saturday was cleaning and stuffing the old Swamp cooler vent in the hall. Sunday – I don’t work :). Monday I really wanted to do stuff but Cali wasn’t feeling good so I held her all day and helped Ben get his drip system in the garden. Tuesday, I cleaned the sliding door and track to see what it is going to take to get a new screen put on there – – NO FLIES IN MY HOUSE THIS SUMMER!

    Neck Strings by Black Bag

My brother just started his own booth at the University Mall selling Neck Ties… I must say that I am very impressed with his set up. Ben bought some of his ties a few years ago and they have been good quality. We just went down and bought a few more and also bought small ones for the boys to match their dad. (by the way – Where do you all get your white shirts for little boys?? I can never find good quality ones or maybe I just haven’t paid for quality.)

I was walking through the other mall yesterday and I must say that his neck ties are a lot better looking than the department store ones.

There is a great selection of ties

There is a great selection of ties

I already bought the second one from the right on the middle row so if you are in my same ward then you can’t buy that one 🙂

So there is my plug for my brother – but really they are a good deal AND FATHERS DAY is around the corner so any of you locals should check it out. 1 tie is only $11.99 and if you buy more than one then the price goes down from there. He is still getting his website up and running but that will be an option soon.
