    Zaliens

Zaliens is Benji’s game of choice for recess. He used to split his time on the playground and near the soccer guys but now he just plays Zaliens the whole time. You can only talk if you put a  Z in front of every word. I don’t know anything else about the game but they play it every day every recess and some girls play too. And I can’t pack to much stuff in his lunch because then it takes to long to eat and he is late to Zaliens. I love this kid!

    Another trip to the pond…

The pond is less than a mile away and it is free and it has sand for the kids to dig in and cool water to swim in and I really like going there. It used to be unknown but this summer the word is out and the place is packed.

See how many cars are there? But it is right by the mountains and just a great local hang out. Today we went with our neighbors and had fun visiting and playing with them.

    crazy swim suit girl

Check Rosie out. I put her swim suit on with a real diaper because we weren’t leaving for an hour. She got her swim shirt on and then she discovered her swim diaper and her favorite Ariel swim suit SO… per her request I put the swim diaper on over the other stuff and the other swim suit on top of everything else. To top it all off she insisted on her sock shoes and ended up wearing them into the water. Too cute.

    A park day

Early morning cloud cover got me thinking that today should be a park day. We came down to Orem after lunch and checked in on my grandparents and aunt. Then I wanted to go to the park with the water fountain and the big swings! The one on the Walmart road that Benji and Pacen used to swim naked in. Well the fountain is empty and the swings were lackluster. But the flower garden and the duck pond were both a hit so it wasn’t a bust.

Life Might be a Little Like This…

If you had a kid every year! Pacen is July of 2004, Benji is June of 2005, Camry is April of 2006, Packer is April of 2007, Claira is September of 2008, and Cali is December of 2008 (almost 2009).

    Life with 6 young kids.

Erica and I took turns watching each others kids yesterday so that we could each go to the Temple! We’ve been doing this once a month and I love it. I think everyone needs someone that is willing to be a little crazy for 2 – 3 hours so that the other can have that “Temple Time”. Thanks Erica. And I am willing to watch kids for anyone else that could use a 2-3 hour uplifting break – Seriously don’t hesitate to call.

    grass valley resevoir

    grass valley resevoir

Little Grass Valley. Does anyone remember when we’d go up there every Memorial Day and camp? I have great memories of camping, hiking, getting rained on… I think that 3 years of rain and a little snow one year finally ended the tradition 🙁 that’s when the Hancock’s stepped up and started the BBQ tradition. This Memorial trip and the Labor Day Fort Bragg camping were the 2 trips that we did every year when I was a kid. Thanks for the great memories Mom and Dad! maybe next memorial we’ll have to do something more than Sonic at the Park and working in the garden – sorry my kids:)

Cali has an eagle eye. That girl can spot me a mile away. Aren’t babies supposed to have limited range or something. Anyway – she finds me wherever I am and throws a fit if I don’t stop and pick her up. I’m afraid I’m getting a little dose of the tantrums that I used to give my dad!

A project a Day: I decided that that is what I am all about right now. I have a million projects on my want and need to get done list so I am trying for one a day. Saturday was cleaning and stuffing the old Swamp cooler vent in the hall. Sunday – I don’t work :). Monday I really wanted to do stuff but Cali wasn’t feeling good so I held her all day and helped Ben get his drip system in the garden. Tuesday, I cleaned the sliding door and track to see what it is going to take to get a new screen put on there – – NO FLIES IN MY HOUSE THIS SUMMER!

    a new record

I changed 6 stinky diapers in one morning! that is crazy. Can’t be too healthy for any of us. Maybe we need to change our diet?.. 2 kids in diapers should not equal more than a diaper an hour. No wonder I feel like I got nothing done.

I love games and I love cards but this has got to be the most backwards card game ever invented. All of the Nettesheim Aunts and Uncles and Grandparents and Cousins love this game but in the 5 years since I was introduced to it I have not been able to make a place for it in my heart or my memory – maybe someday it will click…….. http://www.sheepshead.org/basicrules.cfm

For Now we stick to easier games!
