We had a little time to kill and NEEDED to keep up our Stay-cation Pace so we swung by the NickelCade! The kids explored and played and agonized a little over which games they should play. I’m predictable – I played basketball and Mrs. Pacman.

    Dinosaur Park

The Dinosaur park! The kids did not enjoy the car ride, especially Cali who threw up her breakfast, but they were excited when they figured out where we were going. We spent a little bit of time in the indoor museum but the kids really liked the outside part. We ate a picnic lunch out by the dinosaur playground and let the kids get a bunch of energy out. Then we walked the outside trails and counted all of the Halloween decorations that were out with the dinosaurs.

One of my favorite parts was watching the girls get up the courage to touch this creepy ghost guy and then come running up the hill to me to safety! 🙂

    Heber Creeper

Thursday Evening we had tickets to board the Heber Train at 5:30. We thought the kids would enjoy being on a real train and they do a pumpkin Festival this time of year. They had a few people on the train that were dressed up and they passed out pumpkin cookies on the ride. After the ride they have a pumpkin train where we got to go in and pick out pumpkins to bring home and they had a haunted train to walk through. Ben’s parents joined us for the ride and they brought Kiah and Micah. It was a pretty short ride (20 minutes each way) but that was about right for a tired 1 year old named Millie, she barely made it. She doesn’t do well when she doesn’t have free range of movement and exploration 🙂 It was a fun ride. Not one that we will do every year but a good change.

    CornBelly’s

We got to Cornbellys around 10 am when they opened on Thursday – unfortunately half of Utah county had the same idea! There were lots of people there but it is big enough that there was still plenty to do. Jamie and her kids were there and Michelle and Udine and their kids. The kids played and played – princess stuff, bounce houses, lots of slides and things to climb on, peddle cars, hay rides, haunted mazes, corn maze, pig races, corn box and at 2pm we HAD to leave to get to our next activity on time. We’ve come here for at least 5 years now and the kids really look forward to it. It was fun to go during the day this year and with great weather.

    Fall Break

We had fall break this last weekend! We toyed with the idea of going somewhere but we decided to try a STAY-CATION!  We teased the kids that we were going to STAY home all day and just relax and you couldn’t go anywhere or leave the family room for Stay-cation. Benji decided that wasn’t a true stay cation so he googled it and announced that we would be visiting local museums. As much as I would have enjoyed a few days on the couch, the kids won and we packed in a bunch of fun.

Thursday: Cornbelly’s with cousins, lunch at the Cafe, Heber Creeper Pumpkin Festival with Grandma and Grandpa and more cousins

Friday: Eccles Dinosaur Park in Ogden, Nickel Cade, Adults to Red Lobster, Surprise Sleepover with cousins in Ogden, Rook

Saturday: Cherry Hill with Cousins, Ben and I had played in our soccer game

Sunday: Church, Football, Aunts and Uncles over for roast and potatoes and games

Monday: Games at home, Bowling in Lehi, Pizza Pie Cafe for dinner, FHE.

I was exhausted at the end of each day but the kids did really well. We had a lot of fun as a family. We also had a few tired moments but over all it was a great fall break. It was really nice not to spend any of the days travelling. It felt like we packed a lot in.

    Millie Can WALK!!

On October 12th Millie (13 months old) started taking a couple of steps and pushing the shopping carts all over the house – and now she can walk! It’s fun watching her toddle and fall and try again. She does best if she is holding something in her hands. She is always on the go exploring and walking and squatting and practicing. And crawling if she really wants to get there fast. I don’t have any great pictures of her in action but here’s some proof:

She still has the best giggle and does it often. She likes to give high fives and is all over the slide that we have in the house. She is starting to become a daddy’s girl! She will choose dad over mom and she will wave good bye to me when dad picks her up. Love this Millie Marie!

At her 1 year check up she weighed in at 19 pounds 10 ounces.
